About Tranex
Tranex, Inc designs, develops, produces and markets custom/standard transformers. Tranex also offers contract assembly services and other power products box builds.
Tranex originally was a spin off of Hewlett Packard’s Pecos Division in Northern CA, founded in 1960. In 1967, Tranex opened its site in Colorado Springs, CO which is our corporate headquarters. Celebrating 50 years in 2010, Tranex, Inc has evolved from two engineers into a global manufacturing and design operation.
The Colorado Springs location is our corporate site with design, quality, manufacturing, and sales and marketing. Tranex is a privately held corporation. Tranex also maintains additional manufacturing capacity through worldwide partners to address all of the production needs of our customers.

Manufacturing
To assure optimum performance and consistency, Tranex utilizes the latest automated equipment. We have implemented cellular manufacturing throughout the organization to reduce turn around time, defects and cost.
Every product that leaves our plant is meticulously tested to verify all electrical parameters and compliance to the customer's specified characteristics. We utilize "Automated Test Equipment" to increase repeatability and efficiency.
Whether the application requires power transformers, power toroids or magnetics for switching or linear power supplies, Tranex possesses the skill to produce optimum performing magnetic components demanded in today's high-density systems.
Engineering
Whether you are designing power supplies, test and measurement equipment, the latest energy device, or a surgical generator for a life sustaining medical device, our engineering team is prepared to design to your exacting requirements.
We are ready to deliver fast prototypes to print, consult with your engineers and design a better solution, or duplicate an obsolete part or assembly; our experience provides you a custom team with industry applications knowledge to shorten the design cycle and deliver quality manufactured products.

Our Manufacturing Operation has benefited from the years of experience and heritage in delivering quality product, developing quality processes, and monitoring the performance of all aspects of the process. We have used ISO 9001 approved processes for many years and have recently implemented ISO9001:2008 procedures and certification is pending. Our exacting set of standards benefits all of our customers by delivering a better designed, manufactured, tested, and verified product.
Our design engineers are well versed through the various facets of safety agencies such as: UL File No. E105562 (N) Class B & H Insulation Systems, VDE, IEC, CSA, TUV, and BSI.
